Engineering-Led Manufacturing Support
A custom cable assembly is more than a cable, two connectors and a drawing. Conductor size, connector selection, cable OD, shielding, materials and production volume all affect one another — and a change in one specification can affect reliability, cost and lead time.
NAVITAS works through these decisions before production begins. From engineering review and material selection to production coordination and quality follow-up, we remain the customer's engineering and commercial point of contact throughout the project.
Custom Cable Assembly Project Facts
- MOQ: generally from 100 pcs per order for custom cable assembly projects, subject to cable, connector, tooling and material requirements.
- Typical lead time: from approximately 4 weeks after drawing and sample approval, subject to material availability.
- Engineering review: completed before production release.
- Production: allocated between Taiwan and China according to project requirements.
Quality & Compliance
- Workmanship: assemblies are built to IPC/WHMA-A-620 acceptance criteria at the class specified on the drawing or purchase order.
- Quality management: production is arranged at manufacturing sites operating under ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Material compliance: UL-recognized wire and components, together with RoHS- and REACH-compliant materials, are specified according to project requirements.
- Inspection: Every cable assembly is 100% electrically tested during production against the test requirements defined on the approved drawing.
We do not describe a cable assembly as "UL certified" unless that specific assembly is covered by a corresponding UL certification. The distinction between using UL-recognized components and holding certification for the complete assembly matters when the customer's finished equipment goes through approval.
Taiwan-based production is typically suited to high-mix, lower-volume and engineering-intensive projects. China-based production supports higher-volume and more cost-sensitive programs.
